I did this as an idle doodle during a quiet Friday afternoon at work. After sketching and shading the face (which took about an hour with a mixture of a scabby old 3H, an HB and a weird clutch pencil I found in the stationary cupboard), I based the uniform on a concept dress uniform for the Russian Navy. It took about 2 hours to colour. The background is a colour corrected/tweaked image for the USS Wisconsin. And now you know.
